“Quality standards.”
Lucy stood across the restaurant watching.
Claire looked at the untouched containers.
“Nothing is damaged.”
Kent shrugged.
“I made a judgment call.”
Owen stayed behind his mother.
Then Lucy walked over.
“No, you didn’t.”
Kent’s expression hardened.
“Back to work.”
She placed several printed receipts on the table.
Claire frowned.
“What are those?”
Lucy looked at Owen.
“Orders.”
Kent moved toward her.
“Lucy.”
She stepped back.
“For months he’s been claiming bakery deliveries arrive damaged.”
Claire stared at the receipts.
“I’ve been giving him credits.”
Lucy nodded.
“But we still served the food.”
