The homeless little girl suddenly grabbed the bride’s wrist.

The entire rooftop went silent.

From across the terrace, the engagement celebration had seemed perfect. White roses lined the glass railings. A tall champagne display glittered beneath the fading sunlight. The city skyline shone gold behind the guests.

The young bride in white smiled as her fiancé reached toward her with a diamond bracelet.

Then everything shifted.

Without warning, a homeless little girl pushed through the crowd.

Her clothes were dirty and torn. The wind had tangled her hair around her face. She was breathless, terrified, and far too small for a place like this.

Before security could stop her, she caught the bride by the wrist.

Guests gasped. A glass shattered. Champagne spread across the floor.

The bride stumbled backward.

“Get this girl away from me!”

But the little girl held on tighter. She was trembling so badly she could barely speak.

“You can’t marry him!”

The entire rooftop fell quiet.

The fiancé stood frozen.

Even the music faded into the evening air.

The bride looked down at the child, struggling to understand.

Then the girl slowly opened her dirty hand.
